Coverage for smart glasses for a UHC group: AT&T Care Plus United Health Care 

According to the AT&T Care Plus website <link here> the program will cover the cost of one pair of assistive smart glasses from one of the four approved vendors from Aira, eSight, NuEyes, and Orcam. These glasses must help participants with low or no vision in their daily activities. The maximum reimbursement amount is $6,000 for the glasses, service, and SIM cards over a lifetime. Prior approval is required, which includes a physician’s certification confirming the participant has low or no vision. Reimbursement does not cover repairs, service fees, or shipping costs unless they are part of the standard rate.

In some instances, this benefit may be treated as taxable income and will appear on your W-2. If you have any questions about this benefit, please contact the Benefits Administrator.
