- Where can I use Snow Pad? Snow Pad is a portable low vision aid that allows you to use it everywhere. For instance, at school, at home, in the office, at the bar, in the library, in the museum, in a conference, etc.. In a word, take it with you anytime wherever you go.
- Is Snow Pad a stand-plus camera only? From the perspective of physical design, it is. However, it also includes the application which you will download from the App Store as the necessity to activate the full use of Snow Pad.
- Which iPad can be used to connect with Snow Pad? All types of iPads. The iPad Pro is mostly recommended because its large screen offers excellent user experience.
- Can I connect Samsung, Chrome Book or other tablets with Snow Pad? Not yet. Zoomax R&D people are working on the solution of which will allow the connection of different tablets. Snow Pad is compatible with iPad and Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro currently. Please pay attention to our updates of the connection with other types in the future.
- If I have more than one iPad, can I use any of them with Snow Pad? Sure! Just download the application into your iPads and connect any of them freely with Snow Pad as you like.
- Does Snow Pad provide battery charging to iPads? Only in the circumstance of Snow Pad being fully charged and the adapter is plugged in, the iPad connected with the Snow Pad will start to be charged. It means the Snow Pad adapter won’t charge the Snow Pad and the iPad simultaneously. In default, it first charges the Snow Pad. If you are in a rush, please charge the iPad separately with its own adapter or with a power bank. To make sure both the Snow Pad and the tablet are fully charged in the morning, we suggest that you charge them at night before going to bed. Another tip for keeping the battery alive as needed: charge them separately at noon when you have a break or after school.
- Can I keep the iPad on Snow Pad when I fold it and pack it into the bag? Yes, you can do it as you like. However, if you intend to check the baggage with Snow Pad inside, please take out the tablet to ensure it is well-protected by yourself. Meanwhile, we strongly recommend that the Snow Pad stay with you. It will help avoid any accident happens to the Snow Pad during shipping.
- Is the Snow Pad heavy for on-the-go? Snow Pad is about 2.4 kg (5.28 Lbs) excluding the tablet. It is the lightest item in its category. However, for young kids in primary school, parents’ help in carrying it around will be a great appreciation.
- Does the Snow Pad come with OCR/text-to-speech function? Yes, Snow Pad supports Ocr/text-to-speech. There are 20 languages available.
- Will the application (APP) automatically update from time to time? No. There is a pop-up of update reminder for your confirmation. You can decide to update it or not.
- Can I use Snow Pad when there is no internet connection? Sure, Snow Pad works offline.
- Does Snow Pad has voice Prompt? Yes, Snow Pad provides voice prompts. It can be inactivated in the setting if you don’t need it.
- Does Snow Pad come with a packing bag? Yes. A well-customized bag enabling the easy carrying on the move is a standard part in the Snow Pad package.
- Can I use the application without the Snow Pad? No. In this case, there is a reminder telling “Please connect with Snow Pad.”

Compatibility Information
If your iPad can update to iOS 16 or later, it will be compatible with our Snow Pad. iOS 16, released in August 2022, supports most iPads from 2017 and later. Notably, it also supports the first-generation iPad Pro from 2015. All iPads running an A9/A9X chip or newer are compatible with iOS 16. To ensure the best experience, we recommend updating your Snow Pad to the latest firmware version (01-10). If you haven’t already done so, you can download the firmware upgrade package and follow these steps:
- Ensure your Snow Pad has a sufficient battery charge.
- Connect the Snow Pad to your computer using a USB-C cable.
- Copy the firmware package to the Snow Pad’s folder.
- The device’s charging indicator will turn blue during the update and go off once completed. Wait about 30 seconds before use.
- Verify the update by navigating to Settings > Software on the Snow Pad, where the version should display as 01-09 or later.
