Coverage for smart glasses for a UHC group: AT&T Care Plus United Health Care
These are the AT&T CarePlus covered procedures and services effective January 1, 2020.
The Program will reimburse you for the purchase of one pair of assistive smart glasses from Aira, eSight, NuEyes, and Orcam. The glasses must aid low/no-vision Participants in daily life. The maximum reimbursement is $6,000 per lifetime for the service, SIM cards and glasses. Prior approval is required, which includes a physician certification that the Participant has low/no vision. There is no reimbursement for repairs, service fees or shipping costs not billed as part of the standard rate.
In some cases, the benefit may be taxable to you and will appear on your W-2. Contact the Benefits Administrator with any questions about this benefit.
